Hi, I am Barb Engel. Wife and mother of two children. I am currently in my 4th term at Kaplan University. I am currently in the Bachelors-Health and Wellness program. I decided to go back to school to further my education in the healthcare field. The journey through the relaxation exercise was a great technique to slow the blood flow and settle into a relaxing state of mind. After a full day work, this is a great activity to unwind from the stressful day. I imagined myself on a beach soaking up the suns rays, running sand through my toes, someday that will be reality :0)

  1. Hey Barb,
I found the relaxation exercise to be a great technique of mind control which actually worked. Although, I almost fell asleep listening to the guy talking and the ambiance sounds in the background. Some day I hope to venture toward the beach too until then think I will just close my eyes and drift away there in thought. :)

  2. I certainly can relate to the beach comments. Having grown up in NYC it was always so easy to get to the water, many time sit was simply necessary in order to recenter and come to a "quieter" place within myself. Currently in WY it is a different story! I had someone tell me once that they would rather see mountains everyday as opposed to the water, it was too vast and uncertain to them. I wholeheartedly disagree; to me the mountains can be "cold" and unforgiving. Salt water heals many ills, the sound, the smell, it is invigorating yet calming.

    Best Wishes on your Journey,

    Christine M Dixon
